Marketing and Leasing Coordinator, Affordable Housing in Harlem, NY to $45k

Our client, a property management firm, has an excellent opportunity for an Affordable Housing Marketing and Leasing Coordinator who will be responsible for keeping the apartment community at the highest possible occupancy and will be responsible for all administrative duties with respect to both the management office and the apartment community. Our client is one of New York City’s premier management companies, specializing in affordable and mixed-income residential housing. They manage more than 10,000 apartments within the New York City metro area.
Areas of Responsibilities & Job Requirements:**
• Provide Marketing & Leasing Customer Service through email & telephone communication
• Log incoming applications on a daily basis
• Update and maintain logbooks and waitlists
• Scan and maintain applicant files
• Review Applications, scheduled eligibility appointments, and provide weekly report to supervisors
• Sent daily notifications to applicants regarding status of application
• Meet with walk-in residents or applicants and assist with their inquiries
• Perform other related duties as assigned (i.e. administrative tasks)
Preferred Background and Skills:**
• Two (2) years of comparable work experience
• Yardi proficient a plus
• Knowledge of NYC Housing Lottery process a plus
• Microsoft Office Suite knowledge required; Excel, Word, Outlook
• Excellent organizational and record keeping skills, detail-oriented and apply initiative.
• Administrative tasks such as scanning, faxing, sending emails, checking voicemails, etc.
• Some college preferred
• Bilingual a plus
Education Requirements:**
• Associates Degree preferred or equivalent work experience.

In this role you will be part of a highly effective team working on the front line of revenue generation and looked upon to identify creative solutions to challenging situations. • Cultivate new relationships with regional and national
• Execute creative strategies to secure new leases and renewals
• Identify prospective tenants and present leasing opportunities through cold calling and canvassing
• Negotiate new lease proposals and lease renewals that meet or exceed budgets
• Prepare annual budgets, and leasing and merchandising plans for each shopping center and present to senior management
• Respond to incoming leasing inquiries & sourcing/developing leads
• Show available spaces to potential tenants
• Maintain market awareness: prospective tenants, competing shopping centers, market rents and trends
• 2-5 years of leasing experience (preferably on landlord side)
• Proven, impressive deal sheet
• Brings to the table pre-existing relationships with retailers and other tenants
• A skilled “deal-closer”
• Acute ability to cultivate relationships
• Strong public speaking and presentation
• Has the ability to travel at times overnight to our properties and to conventions, industry events
• Bachelor’s Degree
